This is a shortie on belief systems. I’m attempting to sell you what 0 religions seem to offer these days: meaning
GOD, ALLAH & HOLY CETERA… DO THEY STILL MATTER?
If you’d put an Arab and a Christian in an empty glass and remove them from their teachings and disciples they would be best buds. This is true because of one thing that ultimately shaped us into transcendental dissonance: Gods and stuff.
Chris Hitchens, one of the most prominent atheists of our time, refused to believe in a society ruled by a ‘third party’. One could not prosper bathed in blood, torture, censorship and economic chaos.
Upheavals, disagreements, war, dictatorship… he basically refused to believe humanity couldn’t pull it off without help from the heavens. Whatever color and promises those heavens might give you.
Traveling through Morocco, one of the most prominent Islamist countries in the world, I kinda get what he says…

I see the need to believe in something that surpasses us and excuses us from our flaws — basically gluing everything up and ultimately subverting reality — but when you look at Islam 101 you don’t feel that much distance from Christianity. Chris would know better because he debated Everyone on this… not JC vs Moha to the Med… just plain and simple Christianity and its organizational and philosophical loopholes.

Doing shit like we did ages ago is a celebration of human wisdom and craftsmanship.
The ban on visual representations is also a thing to praise in a evermore audiovisual society that shits on interaction and lives on algorithmic pulsars of nothingness. Bookmarks, history, cookies, what? Islam says no. And Islam pulls it off.
The less is more approach is more applicable to the Allah way of life.
Basic architecture? A tribute to trigonometry and mathematics, a pursuit of perfection and symmetry through light and color and no fuss with bronze, gold, silver or whatever it is shiny and… ad-like. ‘We got money’? No.
‘We got solid structure made of stone, wood, plants’ and that’s pretty much it.
Also… the visual ‘dolby surround’ on Islamic representations literally mutes us from knowing any Arabic famous painter or sculptor. Christians love idols until every last drop of substance (we are talking Everything here, from Rafael to Adolf Hitler visual expressions).
Arabs love the shape, the form and the meaning is… something palpable yet not important. That is why subversion, in JC vs Moha-Man, works both ways: you can create many messages from Christ. And you can do a Lot based on what you can interpret from Allah even if you’re not allowed to paint it.
Conclusion? I’d say Go for Rig Vedas. Long before Gods our ancestors wrote stuff like this:

‘Everything is content’ they say. I’d argue Nothing is the norm in digital and populist propaganda.
There is no content when the message is sent one-way. Nor God nor Allah offer solution to this: humans are to blame and only Them will ultimately find the answer. Praying leads nowhere and so does clicking.
